Magic Item Recycler

The Magic Item Recycler is a lockable chest for your house that recycles magic items into Magical Essence by the chestful — the bulk version of the Recycle button in the craft menu. Drop a dungeon haul in, press one button, and the essence (plus the raw materials every piece smelts back into) lands inside the chest.
| Where from | The Vault of Eren, Containers — 50 Eren Coins, delivered to your bank box. No NPC sells it. |
| Setup | Must be secured inside a house. A plain lock-down is not enough — until it is secured it is just a wooden chest, and it tells you so. |
| Using it | Double-click within 2 tiles: the chest opens as usual, and the recycle menu opens on top. |
| Weight | 25 |
Anyone with access to the chest can use the menu; its settings are stored on the chest, so house-mates share one set of filters.
What it recycles ↑ top
The same rules as the craft menu's Recycle button — the full table is on the Crafting Overview:
- Identified magic weapons, armor and shields, grimoires and instruments — 10 essence plus 10 per magic level (durability levels count for nothing), one and a half times that for looted gear, half for gear you crafted yourself; golden armor parts pay a bonus on top.
- 8th circle magery scrolls — 4 essence each. Lower circles cannot be recycled.
- Plain weapons, armor and instruments — no essence, just the material refund, which makes the chest a convenient bulk smelter for crafting-training leftovers.
- Unidentified magic items wait, greyed out, until identified.
Every recycled piece of equipment also returns raw materials exactly like smelting: half its recipe for your own crafts, a single ingot, leather or log for looted pieces — in the item's own material grade. Essence, ingots, leather and logs inside the chest are never treated as input, so output can pile up safely.

From top to bottom:
- Summary — how many items are stored, recyclable, kept and unidentified, and what the current selection is worth in essence.
- Category bar — Weapons · Armor · Scrolls · Grimoires · Instruments, each with an on/off toggle and a settings button for its keep filters (highlighted while a filter is active).
- Item list — six items per page with a checkbox, the item's art and name, and its yield. Green means it will be recycled, greyed means excluded (its category is off or you unticked it), gold means a keep filter protects it, greyed-out means unidentified, red means it can never be recycled — hover for the reason.
- Actions — Recycle Selected, Recycle All, Identify All, Dump into Recycler.
- Feedback — what the last action did.
Per-item ticks are yours alone and reset when you open a different recycler; everything else — category toggles, keep filters, dump options — is saved on the chest.

Matching items show in gold and are never recycled, by either button — the safety net that lets you dump a whole backpack without reading every tooltip first:
| Category | You can keep |
|---|---|
| Weapons | damage level at least X, accuracy at least X, durability at least X, all slayers, all exceptional crafted |
| Armor | protection level at least X, durability at least X, all exceptional crafted |
| Scrolls | all 8th circle scrolls |
| Grimoires | damage level at least X, enchantment at least X, all slayers |
| Instruments | tuning at least X, durability at least X, all slayers |
Identify All ↑ top
Identifies every unidentified item in the chest for 50 gold each, taken from your bank, after a confirmation that shows the count and the fee. Unidentified loot is worth nothing to the recycler until then, so this is usually the first button you press after a dump.
Dump into Recycler ↑ top
Fills the chest from your backpack or from a targeted container, with two remembered options: include sub-containers and include unidentified items. Valid sources are a bag in your pack, a secure or locked-down container in the same house, or a loose chest on the ground within 3 tiles. Only items the recycler can take are moved; the run stops if the chest fills up.
Recycling ↑ top
Recycle Selected takes every green item (honouring category toggles and your ticks), Recycle All everything that is recyclable and not kept. Output stacks onto the piles already inside, the chest sparkles and rings, and every open menu refreshes on its own — dropping items in or taking them out updates it too, so there is no refresh button.
