Gems
Gems are found as loot in monster corpses and chests, and can be bought from jeweler NPCs. Their main use on UO Sagas is as the key ingredient for luck jewelry — see the Luck page for what luck actually does.

Crafting luck jewelry
Luck jewelry is crafted with Tinkering (80–120 skill) and requires a recipe. What the finished piece does for you is covered in Luck. Each piece — ring, bracelet, necklace or bead necklace — takes:
- 10 gems of one type
- 1 or 2 clovers (see table above — the better gems need 2)
- 2 iron ingots
Clovers are sold by farmer NPCs for 5,000 gold each.
The finished jewel carries the luck bonus of its gem and is hued to match. It starts with 20 charges, plus one bonus charge per 10 points of Tinkering above 80 (and one more at 120 Tinkering — up to 25 charges total). While worn, one charge is consumed every 15 minutes; when the last charge runs out the jewel is destroyed.
