Expandable Houses

Every player house in UO Sagas is expandable and has three stages. After the initial placement, a house can be upgraded twice through the house menu. Each upgrade physically expands the building — another floor or wing — and raises its limits for secure containers, lockdowns and vendors.

Example: the Small Brick House at each of its three stages.

How to Upgrade

  1. Open your house menu via the house sign (you must be the owner).
  2. Choose Upgrade this house and confirm. The cost is withdrawn from your bank account.
  3. The new structure appears immediately — no re-placing needed.

Each upgrade costs 1.5× the original deed price. So a fully upgraded (Stage 3) house costs 4× the deed price in total: 1× for the deed, plus 1.5× for each of the two upgrades. See Houses for the exact costs and per-stage limits of every house type.

Good to know:

  • The upgrade must have room to build: if items or creatures are in the way of the new walls, the upgrade is blocked until the obstruction is removed. The blocking spots are highlighted with sparkle effects so you can find them.
  • There is a short cooldown between upgrade attempts — if you just upgraded, you may need to wait a moment before upgrading again.
  • If an upgraded house is redeeded, the deed remembers its stage — when placed again, the house reappears at the stage it had before.
  • Some houses also have module slots for further additions such as a Stable — see Modules.
