Player Vendors

Player vendors are NPC shopkeepers that sell your goods while you are offline. They stand in a house — yours, or one whose owner rents you the space — and every house type has a fixed number of vendor slots (see the Vendors column in Houses).

A player vendor's context menu, offering Open Paperdoll, Contract Options and See Goods

Single-click a vendor for its menu — See Goods browses the wares; the contract entries depend on whether you are the owner or the landlord.

The rental contract

Everything runs through one item: the vendor rental contract, sold for 5,000 gold by bankers, innkeepers, barkeepers and tavern keepers. It serves both uses:

  • Your own house: place the contract and choose Place Own Vendor — the vendor is yours, no rent involved.
  • Renting out space: place the contract as an open offer. Any player can walk in, read it and rent the spot — you become the landlord, they become the renter who owns the vendor.

Placement rules, checked when you set the contract down:

  • Inside your own house, and you must be standing in it.
  • The house must be public (not private) and not condemned.
  • A free vendor slot and a clear tile.

Renting: how the deal works

  1. The landlord sets the rental price (default 1,500 gold) and a duration — 1, 2 or 3 weeks, or 28 days.
  2. A prospective renter clicks the contract and picks See Offer. The offer holds for 30 seconds before it expires.
  3. On accept, the price is withdrawn from the renter's bank and paid to the landlord. The vendor appears on the contract's tile, owned by the renter.

If the landlord's bank box cannot hold a payment, the remainder is stored on the vendor and the landlord picks it up later with Collect Rent.

Renewal

When the period ends, the contract auto-renews only if both sides left their renewal flag on (each side toggles their own in Contract Options) and the house is not condemned:

  • The renewal price — which the landlord may set differently from the original price — is withdrawn from the renter's bank and paid to the landlord. Keep the gold there: if the withdrawal fails, the vendor is dismissed on the spot.
  • If either side has switched renewal off, the vendor is dismissed when the time runs out. The countdown is shown whenever you open Contract Options.

Ending it early

The landlord cannot simply evict. Terminate Contract starts a buyout: the landlord offers the renter a gold sum for immediate termination, and the contract only ends early if the renter accepts the offer.

The daily fee

Every player vendor — rented or your own — charges a wage once per real-world day, based on what it has on sale:

12 gold + roughly 0.12% of the total asking price of everything on the vendor per day. (This is the standard wage reduced to 20% while the shard's population grows.)

The fee is taken from the gold the vendor has earned first, then from the owner's bank. If neither covers it, the vendor is dismissed and its goods go to storage — an overpriced, forgotten vendor eventually fires itself.

Dismissed vendors: Lost & Found

Whenever a vendor is dismissed with goods or gold on it — unpaid wage, failed renewal, renewal switched off — nothing is lost immediately:

  • Its full inventory and held gold are stored for 14 days.
  • Reclaim them from the Lost & Found Officer in Moonvale, or via your house sign (Reclaim Vendor Inventory).
  • After 14 days the stored inventory expires for good.
  • Rent still stored on the vendor for the landlord goes to the house's moving crate instead.
