Young Players

All new characters begin with Young Player status. It gives fresh characters a protected start on Adena Island, the newcomer area, before they head out into the wider world.

Benefits

As a Young Player you enjoy the following benefits:

  • You can trade with the NPC vendors on Adena Island — these vendors only serve Young players.
  • You may mine, chop trees and pick cotton on Adena Island — resource gathering there is reserved for Young players.
  • Free use of Ghost Gates (normally 500 gold per use).
  • No loss of items upon death — everything stays in your backpack instead of dropping to your corpse.
  • Immunity to poison.

Where the Status Applies

Young Player status is tied to the newcomer areas (Adena Island and its dungeon). When you leave a Young Player area, the status is removed and you are told: "You are no longer a young player."

If you are still eligible — under 40 hours of playtime, 450 or fewer total skill points, and no kills — the status is restored the next time you log in inside a Young Player area. On login you are told how many hours of Young status remain.

Losing the Status Permanently

Your Young Player status ends for good when any of the following happens:

  • 40 hours of in-game playtime
  • Reaching a total skill value of 450
  • Acquiring a kill count (murdering another player)
  • Renouncing the status yourself

Renouncing Young Player Status

Ready to leave the nest early? You can renounce the status in two ways:

  • Open the context menu on your own character (single left click) and select "Renounce Young Player Status".
  • Say in game: "i renounce my young player status"

A confirmation window appears before the status is removed — once renounced, it is gone for good, so make sure you are ready.
