Town Rewards
Completing Town Quests pays you reward currency on top of your rank points. You spend it at your town registrar on gear, decoration and character upgrades that are not available anywhere else.
The three currencies
Reward currency comes in three flavours, and each reward is priced in exactly one of them — so what you can buy depends on which quests you have been running.
| Currency | Earned from |
|---|---|
| Town Influence | Hunting and adventure quests |
| Town Exports | Crafting and gathering quests |
| Town Defense | PvP — militia kills, CTF matches and tournaments |
If your town holds the Increased Quest Reward Points bonus, your quest reward currency — not your town score — is boosted by 20/40/60% depending on the bonus level.
Earning Town Defense
Defense is the odd one out: no quest awards it. It comes from fighting other players.
| Source | Defense points |
|---|---|
| Militia kill | Equal to the silver you take home from the kill — that is 40 silver per kill point awarded, minus your militia's tithe (half by default) |
| CTF match, winning team | 50 |
| CTF match, losing team | 25 — you are paid for taking part, not only for winning |
| Tournament cancelled for too few entrants | 15, as a consolation for registering |
Militia kills are by far the largest source, and they scale: because the payout tracks the victim's kill points, hunting a high-ranked enemy pays far more Defense than hunting a Cadet.
CTF is the reliable option if you would rather not run a militia — every match pays, win or lose.
What the registrar stocks
Higher reward tiers unlock as you buy from the lower ones, so the list grows as you spend.
- Quester Rank upgrades — 500 points, buyable twice. Take these first: three quest slots per period instead of one triples your income. See Overview.
- Mastery gems — Aether and gathering gems for the Skill Mastery system
- Pigments and special dyes — in your currency's signature colour, see Pigments and Dyes
- Town banners and shields
- Wearables — the clothing below
- Ethereal mount statuettes — horse, ostard and llama
Wearables
Clothing sold only for town points. Each piece is tied to one currency:
| Item | Currency | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Moonvale Jacket | Town Defense | 3,000 |
| Ornamented Shirt | Town Exports | 3,000 |
| Checkered Shirt | Town Influence | 3,000 |
| Fur Hat | Town Exports | 3,000 |
| Mage Hood | Town Influence | 3,000 |
| Assassin Hood | Town Defense | 3,000 |
| Red Silk Robe | Town Influence | 6,000 |
| Yellow Silk Robe | Town Defense | 6,000 |
| Blue Silk Robe | Town Exports | 6,000 |
| Orange Patterned Kilt | Town Influence | 4,000 |
| Blue Patterned Kilt | Town Defense | 4,000 |
| Golden Patterned Kilt | Town Exports | 4,000 |
Four of these — the Moonvale Jacket, Assassin Hood, Yellow Silk Robe and Blue Patterned Kilt — are priced in Town Defense, so they are earned through PvP — militia kills or CTF — rather than through questing.
