Lithos the Soulless

Lithos the Soulless is the dungeon boss of the Crematorium, a necromancer drawn out at the Altar of Blood deep inside the dungeon.

The fight is not meant to be soloed. Everything he does is sized for at least five players, and most of it grows with the crowd: every 30 seconds he counts the living players within 20 tiles of him and scales what he throws at them to that number.

Lithos the Soulless arrives on the pentagram, his rotting guardians already closing in.

Raising him ↑ top

The Crematorium's boss meter fills with the Skill Mastery XP earned anywhere in the dungeon. When it is full, the Altar of Blood rises out of the floor and asks for Skulls of Death, the champion skull Morghul leaves at the end of a Crematorium champion spawn. The first ritual of the day costs one skull, each further one that day one more. Offer them by dropping them on the altar or through its Offer a skull button; every skull is worth 3,000 points of fight score to whoever offers it. When the last skull is in, the altar sinks, a pentagram fills with blood, and Lithos appears in its centre. The full procedure, the skull cost and the meter are on the Dungeon Bosses page.

Hit points 60,000
Melee damage 25 to 35
Magic Magery and Evaluating Intelligence at 120, Resisting Spells at 150
Bards Cannot be provoked. A targeted Peacemaking fails; area Peacemaking does reach him
Corpse Empty. No fame, no karma: rewards come through the damage score

Lithos does not fight alone, and he does not fight the same way from start to finish: the fight changes as his health drops, and he is at his most dangerous near the end. Learning what he does, and when, is part of the fight; bring a full group, healers who can keep up, and cure potions.

Everything he summons dies with him, and the damage you deal to it counts toward your fight score. If no living player stays within 30 tiles of him for an hour, he vanishes and the offered skulls are lost.

Rewards ↑ top

Everything comes through the damage score: a 4,000 score makes you a participant, lifts the world loot scattered where he fell (its containers are hued the Crematorium colour) and earns a backpack reward. The boss rewards, the Bone Container and the bone furniture and gravestone decor, drop only from dungeon bosses.

Titles ↑ top

Every won fight adds your whole damage score, skull bonus included, to the Crematorium boss ladder. It has three ranks:

Rank 1 Rank 2 Rank 3
Defier of Lithos Breaker of Lithos Doom of Lithos

Points atrophy by 7% every day, so the title reflects how hard and how often you currently fight him. The title is hidden by default: single-click yourself and pick "Toggle Monster Title Display" from your context menu. If you also hold a champion title, the better one by rank, then points, is the one shown. Open [BossScore and click My Title Scores for your points and current rank; Top Scorers lists the current top 10. How the ladders work across all bosses is on the Dungeon Bosses page.
