Halloween Event

Every autumn the Halloween Grounds open: a dungeon of their own, full of event monsters that drop rewards you can get nowhere else. Entry costs a Halloween Event Ticket, a visit lasts 45 minutes, and the gate stands in the Duel Arena, in the row of event gates.

Halloween 2026: 24 October to 8 November

Tickets and rewards drop while the event runs and switch themselves off when 8 November begins. The gate and Sinistra the Dealer stay a little longer, so a leftover ticket can still be used and leftover lanterns still traded until staff take them down. The grounds are meant for a small group: they play about as hard as a deep dungeon level, and soloing them is possible but slow.

Getting a ticket ↑ top

Halloween Event Tickets drop from ordinary dungeon monsters while the event runs. Only the tougher creatures carry them: a monster has to be of loot stage 6 or higher, and the higher the stage, the better the chance. Three places never drop tickets: the boss rooms of the dungeon bosses, the Halloween Grounds themselves, and champion spawns, whose monsters are not dungeon spawn. Staff also hand a ticket to everyone online at random moments during the event.

The ticket is a scroll of 5 stones in the Halloween orange. It is not blessed: it stays on your corpse and can be stolen. Carry it loose in your backpack, not in a bag, because the gate only accepts a ticket in the top level of your pack.

The gate ↑ top

The Halloween Event Gate is an orange moongate in the Duel Arena, next to all the other event gates. Walk onto it and a confirmation window opens. Accept with a ticket in your backpack: the ticket is consumed, you are teleported in, and the clock starts.

  • Pets come along if they are following, guarding or coming to you and stand within 3 tiles when you step through. A pet left on stay, or further away, stays behind.
  • When the 45 minutes are up you and your still-controlled pets are moved back out to the gate, wherever you are inside. If you are logged out when the timer ends, you find yourself outside at your next login.
  • An exit gate inside brings you out early. Leaving early, dying and wandering off, or recalling out ends the visit: coming back costs a new ticket.

Inside the Halloween Grounds ↑ top

The grounds are a dungeon of their own with a bank inside, so you can stash what you find before it is looted off you. No ghost gates spawn here, and the deeper you go, the harder it gets.

The monsters are the event's own: killer pumpkins (mages and warriors), the Spirit and Shadow of Halloween, Halloween Bats, Halloween Elementals, Sinister Reapers, Creepy Spiders, Witches, Night Terrors, Pest Maids, the Halloween Grim Reaper, the Halloween Dragon and the Terror Daemon, among others. The killer pumpkins deserve respect: they are murderers, they dispel summons, and they spill acid when hurt.

Hands off the pumpkin! Pumpkins lie around the grounds. The first time you lift one, a killer pumpkin may burst out of the ground beside you and the pumpkin stays where it is. Lift it again once the pumpkin is dealt with, or once it has left: a killer pumpkin that is not hurt for five minutes vanishes on its own. Some pumpkins are carved jack-o'-lanterns that light and douse on a double-click, and every pumpkin can be carried home as decoration.

Rewards ↑ top

Every event monster carries the event loot on top of its normal loot: one roll per corpse for one of the year's rewards, with a small chance that rises with the monster's toughness. Luck helps.

2026 ↑ top

Reward What it is
Animated Pumpkin Skull, Animated Pumpkin Twoface, Animated Pumpkin Tongue Three new animated jack-o'-lanterns, faces that did not exist last year. Double-click to light or douse them; lit, the face moves.
Pigments in the Halloween hue The pumpkin orange, for dyes and dye tubs. See Pigments and Dyes.
Flaming Scarecrow A burning house addon. It never drops: Sinistra the Dealer trades it for one of each of the three lanterns.

The Halloween hue is an Event hue since 2026: it is no longer in the chest, random-pigment or Christmas pools, so the event drop is the only way to get it. The Pigments Almanac keeps Event hues on a page of their own. Every Halloween reward, the 2025 items included, shows Halloween Event Reward in its tooltip.

2025 ↑ top

The first year's rewards no longer drop: nine carved jack-o'-lanterns with different faces, the wearable Pumpkin Mask and the Pumpkin Scarecrow decoration.

Sinistra the Dealer ↑ top

Sinistra the Dealer stands next to the gate in the Duel Arena. Her name is red, but she is harmless and cannot be attacked. Double-click her, or pick Talk from her context menu, within 3 tiles and her trade window opens: the three lanterns on the left, the Flaming Scarecrow on the right. A lantern you carry is shown lit; a missing one is shown dark and grey, and the Trade button stays greyed out until all three are in your backpack (a bag inside your pack counts).

Bring her one of each of the three animated lanterns and she hands you a Flaming Scarecrow Deed. One set, one deed, no partial trades, and no limit on how many sets you trade. Sinistra is the only source of the scarecrow.

Sinistra the Dealer beside her trade window: the three lanterns, Skull, Tongue and Twoface, and the Flaming Scarecrow she gives for them

Sinistra and her offer. All three lanterns are in the backpack here, so the Trade button is live.

The Flaming Scarecrow ↑ top

A one-tile house addon placed from the deed. Double-click it to light or douse the flame; while it burns it gives light and crackles whenever someone walks past it. It faces south or east: turn it with the Interior Decorator. Chop it with an axe as the house owner and you get the deed back. Both the deed and the placed scarecrow carry the Halloween Event Reward line.
