Stonecrafting & Glassblowing Update
Applied 30 August 2026. Two sub-crafts opened, along with the mining and quest changes that supply them. Each entry below links to the page that documents it in full.
Masonry and Glassblowing ↑ top
Two trades, neither a skill of its own and neither costing a skill slot. Each is layered on a parent skill and taught by a book that only a Grandmaster can read.
| Trade | Runs on | Tool | Station | Makes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Masonry | Carpentry 100 | Mallet and chisel | none | Stone vases, chair, tables, statues |
| Glassblowing | Alchemy 100 | Blow pipe | forge | Flasks, vials, glassware |
Both share one 80 to 120 skill window on every recipe. Because the books only teach a Grandmaster, the usable part starts at 100: 50% success for masonry, 75% for glassblowing, reaching 100% at the 120 cap. Neither makes magic items, so there is no quality, no maker's mark and no magic properties; a granite tier only sets the colour of the finished piece.
Two groups of masonry recipes and the whole glassblowing Flasks group are gated behind recipe scrolls. Bottles are not craftable: they remain vendor goods.
The craftsman quests ↑ top
The books are not sold. The Stone Crafter and the Glassblower each offer a chain of two quests, open to anyone, one attempt per day each. The first quest of each chain rewards a mining book, the second the trade book. See Quests.
Mining ↑ top
- Granite is a bonus find in ore veins, not a vein of its own, and needs the pickaxe set to Ore and Stone. While that is on, ore yield is halved. A server restart currently resets the switch to ore only.
- Sand is dug from beach and desert with a shovel. Pickaxes no longer dig sand and shovels no longer touch rock.
- Both need Grandmaster Mining plus their book. See Mining.
Gathering ↑ top
- Ore, wood and sand spots refill in 5 to 10 minutes, down from 7½ to 15.
- Self-targeting now skips spots that are already worked dry instead of swinging at them.
Quest window ↑ top
The quests are fully integrated into the Quest Gump (Paperdoll, then Quests).
