Daemon Armor
Daemon Armor is a craftable heavy armor set forged by blacksmiths from iron ingots and daemon scales. It offers the strongest protection of the three special crafted sets, at the price of hefty Dexterity penalties. The set consists of five pieces: breastplate, sleeves, leggings, gloves and helm.
Crafted with Blacksmithy at 80 – 120, from iron ingots and daemon scales. Every piece is gated behind a learned recipe.

A full suit is 31.6 armor and −16 dexterity — the highest armor rating obtainable, two points above plate, for two more dexterity.
"Armor added" is the piece's contribution to your total armor rating at regular quality — and your total armor rating is roughly the percentage of each physical hit your suit absorbs (see Weapons). Exceptionally crafted pieces protect about 15% more. Like plate, daemon armor counts fully against your passive mana regeneration, so it is not a mage's choice.
How to unlock the recipes
Crafting daemon armor is gated behind two steps:
- Read the Book of Daemon Armor Crafting. The Exiled Emberthorn Armorer NPC offers the quest Gathering Daemon Scales: bring him 100 daemon scales within one day and the book is yours. The quest can be repeated (it resets daily) if you fail.
- Learn the recipe for each piece. Each of the five pieces has its own recipe scroll (red-hued). Recipe scrolls are found among the rewards of champion spawns. You must have read the book before a daemon armor recipe scroll can be used.
Once both are done, the pieces appear in the blacksmithy craft menu. Crafting requires 80 Blacksmithy and remains challenging all the way to 120 skill.
Getting daemon scales
Daemon scales drop from daemonic creatures — daemons, balrons, imps, gargoyles, hell hounds and their stronger dungeon kin. Tougher creatures drop scales more often and in larger stacks. See Resources for other special crafting materials.
